recent
for S from J
I am happy to report that today I have been able to issue the first donation resulting from the Jeremy Brett Memorial Walk 2009 to MDF The Bipolar Organisation. The first installment on this has been GBP 85, and an at least similar amount is to be going to UK Cancer Research.

(I had not wanted to "stock" the incoming money forever, so I at least wanted to give away SOME of the money in advance - thus they can at least put it to good use.)

While I am working on the footage taken during the Walk in order to have a video ready as a tribute to Jeremy's birthday tomorrow, I will use that opportunity to once more invite potential donators, so that the complete donations are likely to be forwarded by the end of November.

More on that, hopefully, tomorrow...

for S from J
Dear all,

I am back home from the Walk! Sorry, this is just a short hello, and a thank you for all the recent support, practically, mentally, and of course re. the donations.

I will be very likely unavaiblable most of the day, as I am in dire need of sleep, cozyness, the tv, and once again sleep...

I have of course brought pics and footage, I just might need some time to assess and edit it.

Good night, everybody (well, so to speak, it's about 11:30 am here), and until later!

Dear all!

Let me thank you very much for all your positive comments and messages you have sent me regarding the upcoming Memorial Walk for our dear man and the charities it is intended for.

I can hardly tell you what that means to us, as we are only some private persons, having started with not much more than a dream...

Meanwhile, I have received several messages stating the intention to support the project with donations. In order to facilitate that I have furnished a button for donating via Paypal - you can just click the icon in order to arrange for donation (further infos pls. see www.paypal.com).

Please be assured that we will transfer the money to the intended charitable use!

However, if you intend to facilitate the walk as such, meaning helping to cover the expenses like accomodation etc., this will of course be greatly appreciated as well. In order to avoid confusions, I have created another paypal-button for this, and I would also like to ask you in such a case to confirm via separate message, that you indeed mean to support the EXPENSES!

This way can also be used in order to purchase the CD "Together" (which provides the soundtrack for our promotional video) for an amount of your own choice plus shipping costs. The money we get for that CD will be directly used to cover the travel cost and therefore make the project possible. If you intend to purchase this CD, please make sure to notify me/us via SEPARATE message.

Donation for expenses

If you, however, prefer to use the more conservative way, please let me know and I will send you details for a German bank account.

Once again, thank you all for your good will, encouragement, donations, and even will to participate.

Best wishes,
Nunewesen (Susanne Schönfeld-Wagner)

for S from J

I do not own the shown clips of the Granada Sherlock Holmes Series. This video is for promotional and strictly non commercial purposes only, and I intend no copyright infringement whatsoever. I claim Fair Use for the whole work.

The music is "Together", as song that has been written by myself and composer Christoph Kirschbaum. Vocals by myself, as well as Nicole Große-Beck and Christoph Kirschbaum in the background.
In order to help us financing the travel, you can purchase the CD for an amount of your own choice plus porto costs.

To enhance the possibilities to enjoy more of the unique Jeremy Brett, please stop by and sign the petition for release of his work at

Who me
I have done a little research on the net and have evaluated our possibilities...

It seems, the best option would be to take a walk from London Stansted (Airport) to Clapham. That might not sound enormous, as we already would be starting in the outskirts of London. But after all, we're talking about a distance of roundabout 40 miles, and with a wheelchair included.

So, given the short planning period as well as the costs I daresay that is a challenge big enough for starters... (what do you think?).

I assume it means 3-4 days of walking, also the costs for flights and accommodation. I will need to set my eyes on youth hostels on the way, so calculated I will need to pay for two flights and a room(s) for Nicole and myself. Anybody interested to join us would of course need to pay his or her individual expenses, as we do not want to spend the raised money for our travelling costs, now do we?

I will have to wait a bit re. the flights, as I of course need to pay them in advance, and so shortly after my move I simply can not afford it. Can not wait too long, though, because then the prices will rise.

I am contemplating about the question in collecting some additional money by doing some street singing there... but I have never done so, yet... would be a rather new experience.

Will be out exercising this evening. If nothing else, the preparations for this walk will get me into shape! :-)

8th-May-2009 12:20 pm - Jeremy Brett Memorial Walk - Update
yesssss2

Mwahahaaaaaa! My boss has just approved my annual leave application for Sept. 02.-14th.

Yes, I am still in earnest!!

We are having a staff meeting here in about 8 minutes (and not all of it with good news I must assume), so here a few facts:
  • Saturday, Sept. 12th - that's the day for Clapham!! We can be 3 people (those are the ones who have already comitted themselves, one of them even in a wheelchair!), or we can be 300 - that depends on you!!!!
  • I do not assume every participant will be a well-trained sports(wo)man, so we will work out some distances that will be managable. So, London Clapham is where we are heading to, and we will seek out various possible starting points, depending on how many days and miles you intend to walk. Depending on the number of days you will be choosing and the state of your fitness, I would calculate an average of 5-15 miles per day...
  • I will start/have started to spread the word, and have already started training... :-)
  • More later!

7th-May-2009 12:21 pm - Walking for Jeremy...?
gotta tell you this
Dear all,

Charlotte has mentioned some kind of sponsored walk in her LJ, and that has triggered some outline of an idea with me, which had been rumouring in my mind for some time, but in such a blurry state that I had been unable to grasp it... and after having spoken with Charlotte about it briefly... now, here it is:

A walk (journey, however) by various Jeremy devotees (the more the better) starting from various points in England to all meet at Clapham Commons at a given date. If one wants to put it that way, a "Jeremy Demo", promoting his ideals of charity, also raising funds (e.g. for cancer research and/or the MDF) as well as strengthening/providing a group experience for his devotees.

I DO NOT mean to "copy" Linda Pritchard's gigantic action re. her run around England. I could not do it, for once, and also this has been such a singular thing that I would not even want to attempt it. But yes, I can not deny some kind of inspiration here!!

One COULD chose Sept 12 for Clapham... I would naturally prefer Nov 3, but there the weather might interfere...

Now, how would it work?

We could determine various starting points in England, preferably in East, West, North and South. Each participant, depending on her/his state of fitness and health (and time) choses one of these points and meet the fellow walkers/travellers there. I would suppose to do as much as possible of the travelling on foot, or maybe per bike. We could walk in groups, all dressed properly do demonstrate our purpose as well. Each one would record the distances in writing to present to possible sponsors afterwards. (One could for example wear a Jeremy Shirt with the logos of the sponsors, carry it across England, thus.)

It would of course afford some organisation and preparation, so if we were to do it, we had better started everything soon. (Some might, for example, want to get in shape for the exercise, right?) Each one would pay his/her own travel expenses, needless to say, and be responsible individually for health and safety.

Via the means of the fan network as well as youtube, LJ, websites etc. we might really be able to get some publicity for this...

Also, some of us Germans are having a fan meeting this month it Bad Nauheim (May 23. + 24.) where I might present the idea as well.

We could even name it "The Jeremy Brett Memorial Walk"...

WHAT DO YOU THINK????????????
